April 10th to April 13th, 2025: The Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation invites you to join us for a weekend encampment with seminars on the skills of the longhunter. It is a weekend geared toward 18th century interpreters, re-enactors and history enthusiasts.

Pre-Registration Fees: PFMF members: $45.00 | Non-members: $55.00 | Non-member with add-on membership: $75.00

Cost includes camping and seminar sessions, entertainment, Fort Feast, and Benefit Auction.

  • 12 – 5 pm - ARRIVAL AND SET UP

Friday, April 11th
  • 9 – 10:30 am - Peter Kelly - My Personal Journey into Historical Scouting
  • 10:30 – 12 noon - Emily Burns - Knit Caps, usage and prevalence on the Frontier
  • 12 noon – 1 pm - LUNCH ON YOUR OWN
  • 1 – 2:30 pm - David Ervin - Militia of the Upper Ohio 1775-1783
  • 2:30 – 4 pm - Nathan Kobuck - Dogs on the Frontier      
  • 6 – 7:30 pm - FORT FEAST

Saturday, April 12th 
  • 9 – 10:30 am - Simeon England - At the Forge of a Longhunter
  • 10:30 – 12 noon - 18th Century Yard Sale (Used Items Only) - No charge but must RSVP for Spot in the Upper Parking Lot.
  • 12 noon – 1 pm - LUNCH ON YOUR OWN
  • 1 - 2:30 pm - Simeon England - Working at the Forge, make and take project
  • 2:30 – 4 pm - Steve Gengelbach -- Livin 18th Century in Southwest Appalachia in the 21st Century, Accounts of Trial and Tribulations from the 2nd Company
  • 4 pm - 5pm -  Don Pearce - Tobacco: One Plant 2 Cultures
  • 5 – 7:30 pm - DINNER ON YOUR OWN
  • 7:30 pm - Benefit Auction
    *Please bring a quality period item to be donated

  • 8:30 – 9 am - Sunday Service
  • 12 noon - Depart for Home

Hours of Operation


Visitor Center:
Open Daily - 10am to 4pm.
After October 27th, 2024 Closed Weekends until April 21st, 2025.

Fort Tours:
The 2025 season begins on April 21st and runs through October 26th. 
​Closed Mondays and Tuesdays after Labor Day.
Self-guided audio tours are available during the off-season beginning in January.


The Junction Cafe:

  • Last day of operation for 2025 season is Nov 1st. ​
  • Reopen in April 2026!

Photography Policy

Starting April 23, 2018, Prickett's Fort State Park and the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation will no longer allow for pay photographers (photographers for hire) to take pictures during operating hours and special events. Photographers are welcome before and after regular business hours and special events. Please see times and upcoming events page.
