Historic Arts Workshop: Horn Building & Scrimshaw with “Wild Willy” Frankfort
Friday 6 to 10 pm, Saturday 9 am to 4 pm, Sunday 1 to 4 pm
This weekend workshop will cover the History of Powderhorns and Scrimshaw; Powderhorn Construction; and Scrimshaw and Engraving. Powderhorn kits can be purchased for $15 (un-engraveable) or $30 engraveable, and scrimshaw kits for $10. Practice material will be available as well as other items such as cow horn boxes and containers at variable prices starting at $10.

Prickett’s Fort State Park Amphitheater
Come enjoy an evening of free music by John Lilly in the park’s outdoor amphitheater. John Lilly is a multi-talented acoustic music performer from Charleston, West Virginia, specializing in Americana, country roots, and traditional folk music. He writes new songs that sound as old as the hills, and performs older songs like they were made yesterday. |

Historic Arts Workshop: Tatting with Kimberlee Miller
Saturday 10 am to 1 pm, Sunday 1 to 4 pm
Learn to make lace with a thread and shuttle. Tatting is an 18th century form of lacemaking that originated in Europe. Open to anyone who wants to get started or build their skills.

NIKKI TALLEY’s fiery stage performance, hauntingly seductive and raw gritty lyrics, are lifted by a voice that harkens back to the Appalachian roots from which she was born, and shores up on the edges of contemporary southern rock, country, blues, and jazz that has her audiences stomping and clapping for more. She tours full time with her husband and fellow musician Jason Sharp. |

Pricketts Fort Lecture Series: West Virginia Forts & Frontier Archaeology by Drs. Stephen & Kim McBride
Sunday 2 pm
Archaeologists Stephen and Kim McBride will give a general overview of forts within the defensive system of the French & Indian War, Lord Dunmore's War, and the Revolutionary War, present some guidelines for research on forts, and present results of research on variations on the physical structure of forts, with more detailed examples from the Greenbrier Valley. Kim McBride is Co-Director of the Kentucky Archaeological Survey at the University of Kentucky. Stephen McBride is the Director of Interpretation and Archaeology at Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park. They wrote Frontier Forts in West Virginia published by WVDCH in 2003. The lecture is free and open to the public. |

West Virginia Storytelling Festival

Join the West Virginia Storytelling Guild for a one day storytelling festival in the park. Schools are invited to participate in special workshops and telling for students. Friday evening, a public storytelling event will begin at 7 pm in the outdoor amphitheater. Tickets are required for all events. Historic Arts Workshop: Choctaw Pouch with Helen Efaw

Join acclaimed local basket weaver, Helen Efaw to learn this unusual pattern using fall colors. The class is designed for the beginning weaver as well as the advanced beginner in the art of basket weaving. Learn the design and techniques of basket making to create your basket to display in your home or as a special gift for your friends and relatives. Bring a brown bag lunch.

Harvest Festival & Antique Fair

Enjoy a fall weekend that focuses on 18th century foods including demonstrations and displays about wild game, food production, harvest, preservation, cooking, customs and manners.
