October 26, 2013. Saturday 9am to 4pm. Join local basket weaver Helen Efaw and learn to make a beautiful gathering basket utilizing fall colors. The class is designed for the beginner weaver, as well as the advanced beginner. Create a basket to display in your home or as a special gift for a friend or relative. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Visitor Center (Min 8).

August 23-25, 2013. 9 am to 5 pm daily. Students will learn basic blacksmithing skills and take home several small projects in this three-day class. The workshop will take students through many techniques that are required to take his October class, Building an 18th century Tomahawk. Bray Blacksmith Shop. (Min 2, Max 4) Open to students 16 and up.

Class meets in the Visitor Center June 8-9, 2013 Min 2 Max 10 Saturday 10 am to 1 pm, Sunday 1 to 4 pm Bobbin lace (or pillow lace) takes its name from the way it is made: on a firm pillow to which a pricked-out pattern is tacked and each twist of the bobbins is held in place by a pin. For all its intricate and elegant appearance, there are only two different movements of bobbins in the formation of the lace: the twist and the cross. Make a bookmark in this weekend workshop. Class is open to anyone who wants to get started or build their skills

October 25-27, 2013 Students will learn the history of the tomahawk and how it was used. Students who participated in Greg's Introduction to Blacksmithing class will be able to apply the skills learned from the August workshop to make their own tomahawk that they can take homel. Bray Blacksmith Shop. (Min 2, Max 4) Open to students ages 16 and up.

August 24-25, 2013. Students will learn basic wood carving techniques and proper tool maintenance and safety. Some tools required.

June 7-9, 2013 Friday 6 to 10 pm, Saturday 9 am to 4 pm, Sunday 1 to 4 pm This weekend workshop will cover the History of Powderhorns and Scrimshaw; Powderhorn Construction; and Scrimshaw and Engraving. Powderhorn kits can be purchased for $15 (un-engraveable) or $30 engraveable, and scrimshaw kits for $10. Practice material will be available as well as other items such as cow horn boxes and containers at variable prices starting at $10.

August 24, 2013. Saturday 10am to 4pm. Geared toward the beginning student, this class will teach you the basic tools that are needed, how to care for and sharpen tools, and the basic techniques of hand engraving. Educational Annex

June 7-9, 2013. Friday 6 to 10pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm, Sunday 1 to 4pm. Come out and learn the ins and outs of fine leather working of the 18th century. Pat Davis , a well-known bag maker and leather worker, will take you through the step-by-step process of laying out and hand stitching your very own 18th centory belt bag. Some materials required. Visitor Center. (Min 4, Max 10).

October 25-27, 2013. Friday and Saturday 10am to 4pm, Sunday Noon to 4pm. Students will have a choice between a ball header war club or a gunstock war club. Students will learn some history of the war club, and will have the opportunity to decorate and finish their club in this two day class. Educational Annex (Min. 4, Max 10).
