  School of the Longhunter and Contemporary Longrifle Association Show

An intense weekend of instruction exploring the role of early frontiersmen on the American frontier. Speakers will focus on the frontier skills of the long hunter. Space is limited registration required. Visitors welcome during day time hours with no admission charge. In addition to the educational programming, this year there will be sanctioned CLA mini-show and sale. Registration for Longhunter includes admission to both events.

Come celebrate the joys of spring with a Saturday moring bird walk. Staff of the West Virgina Department of Natural Resources will lead the public on this annual rite of passage. Programs begin at 8 am. Wear sturdy walking shoes and bring binoculars if you have tham. Free and open to the public.

  Jones Imboden Raid Civil War Kids Day

School groups are invited to attend a speical day of local civil war history commemorating the Jones Imboden Raid of 1863. Civil war re-enactors will provide learning stations for students thoughout the day. Regular school tour admission applies.

  Jones Imboden Raid Civil War Weekend

In April 1863 Confederate forces invaded Fairmont, Virgina (now West Virginia) in an attempt to gain control of the stratic B&O Railroad and capture Francis Pierpont, Governor of the Re-Organized Virginia. The park will commemorate this event though various re-enacments and demonstrations. Regular park admission applies.

Enjoy a full day of Traditional Music with musicians scheduled to perform inside the Visitor Center as well as informal jamming in the park. There is no charge for the entertainment. Food vender available on site. Tour of the Fort and Job Prickett House Require a ticket.

Join us for a unique shopping experience in an historic enviroment. Artisans will demonstrate and feature works for sale in the Fort's Visitor Center. The Market area is open free of charg e and live music will be featured daily. The Fort buildings and Job Prickett House will be decorated for the season and costumed interpreters will give tour. Tours require a ticket. Food will be available.
